First impressions can be life changing. While watching a presentation, you have already decided in the first 10-15 seconds if you are interested or in agreement with the speaker. While your brain was processing the speaker's information, it was retrieving preconceived ideas of the topic while waiting for more input. If the presenter hijacks your thought process, a shortcut may become the new direct path, hence giving you a new outlook or first impression!
Dr. Michelle Doscher examines and teaches the science of using verbal and nonverbal communication cues to enhance business relationships and augment investigations. Her researched method for determining veracity in handwritten statements, along with utilizing cognitive interviews, can be implemented in recruiting screens, pre-employment screens, internal interviews for internal positions; forensic interviews; and civil and criminal investigations.
